Another early start for a trip to Blackbuck National Park. What a pleasant surprise this little reserve is! We only came across 1 other vehicle all morning. We saw the grey wolves ( very far away ) and 2 sightings of the jungle cat as well as blackbuck and lots of wild boar. The birding was fantastic; so many raptors over the marshes.
Next stop was the beautiful Manilaxmi Jain Temple. We ate lunch in the 500 seater restaurant.
Waiters come around serving the food onto your plate; as much as you can eat for 150 Rupees. ( about USD1.50 )

The family still live in part of the palace which is surrounded by beautiful grounds, parks, a golf course and other sporting facilities. We stayed at the Welcom Hotel and again just loved all the food. There aren't many westerners here. Gujarat is not a popular destination for foreign tourists. People stop Neil all the time; touching his arms, asking the usual questions and taking a photo with him. Some ladies have even knelt and kissed his shoes!
