GREECE 2026 : MYKONOS

Saturday 29 August to Monday 1 September
Mykonos is THE party island in Greece. Super busy, pretty expensive and lots of fun. We stayed in Mykonos Town in a cute and quirky apartment; in an alley, up a little staircase with a rooftop deck with sunset views. 20m from "The Stairs" Cafe for our morning coffee with croissant, bun or savoury pie. And there's plenty going on in town, especially at night. The are lots of good restaurants. Mamalouka was great. Cool places for cocktails with a view and plenty of loud music. At Argo, since 1978, the owner/DJ was our age or older, so I Ioved his music; at least 1 ABBA song every 30 minutes! We stayed up until 2.30am and there was no sign of things quietening down. We slept with earplugs. Mykonos is renowned for it's beach clubs. We chose a very low key Cavo Psarou for lunch and a lovely swimming beach; more restaurant than club but we had a wonderful day.
Maria suggested we meet for dinner on Monday at Camares, a hotel restaurant on the other side of the island that has traditional Greek music and plate breaking.
On our next Greek island hopping trip we're going to make sure the party lovers amongst you come to Mykonos with us; we don't care that we're all 60 something! YOLO!
