We spent three nights at Victoria Waterfront in Livingstone. We celebrated three birthdays in three days. On the 8th we had sundowners on the deck overlooking the Zambezi; followed by dinner. We were entertained by a choir from Cambridge University. I celebrated my birthday with a round of Dom Pedros and we watched the US Open final on TV at the bar.
On Monday we had a rest day while Stephen and Vivienne walked the bridge into Zimbabwe to see the Falls from the Zim side to celebrate his birthday. Due to a serious drought there's not much of a flow of water over the Zambian side of the falls. We all did a super river safari in the evening.

On Tuesday some of our group did a walking safari to see the white rhino which have been relocated from South Africa to Mosi-oa- Tunya NP. We enjoyed time by the pool. It's Neil's 65th birthday so Hanlie had used her connections in tourism to get us a booking for dinner at the Royal Livingstone Hotel. We taxied over and at the gate they told us the hotel was closed for a private function. They did let us in but the place was deserted and they didn't want to serve us. Luckily Hanlie had email proof of our booking and after we encamped in the lobby in protest, the GM arranged us complementary drinks on the deck! Exclusive use of the Royal Livingstone Hotel with sunset views for Greenie's birthday drinks! We did have head back to Waterfront for dinner though.
