Saturday 25th to Monday 27th April
What a gorgeous drive out of the Mkuze Valley and over the Jozini Dam.
Jozini is busy on a Saturday morning,though.
We had booked a big campsite at Utshwaelo but the was no way we were getting 3 caravans, let alone our "Palace" onto the stand.
So Neil and I pitched on a big nearby spot. You'd be surprised how much longer it takes to cook and clean in these "tiny homes" even if you are super organised. Neil is enjoying his outdoor cooking on open fire but it takes prep - by me - but conditions like rain, sun, wind and after dark starts aren't always pleasant. Give me all afternoon to potter in a cool,shady camp and I'm as happy as...
The beach at the mouth is one of my favourites in the world.
Even on a long weekend it's not crowded. One afternoon we took a boat cruise on the lakes.
We did see hippo but the birds were not about.
Our bird trip list is slowly growing though...we aren't serious twitchers but we do enjoy it.
