Crossing back into South Africa at Golela was easy.
In Pongola, the best place to shop is OK Foods and Tops did have a few good whiskies. Tommy and Mandy joined us and we spent 3 nights wild camping in Somkhanda GR in the Mkuze Valley.
The area is lush and green after so much late rain but the dense bush makes game viewing difficult.
And the rain continued..grey skies meant our solar panels couldn't charge our caravan batteries so we limited our useage to conserve power. I was grateful for the extra space in our UEV 25 on those wet afternoons and Hanlie and I always have chilled bubbly at the ready. We did some good cooking too and having a small " afdak " - a covered area - kept us mostly dry.
Is the lack of phone connectivity a blessing in disguise? It's amazing how quickly one gets behind with all the admin and comms.
