Due to the river coming down in flood, the campsite is under water and the road to the lodge is impassable. They let us know to park our vehicles at local clinic and then we transferred to the lodge by boat.
We were upgraded to a dinner, bed and breakfast package. Awesome room with a view!
We enjoyed our sunset cruise eventhough the bubbly they supplied was sweet JC Le Roux. Hanlie and I mixed it with orange juice.
We had to explain to the French couple on the boat with us that this was not representative of our South African MCCs or our wines in general. At dinner we ordered a proper MCC and decided we have become wine snobs! The salad selection was so fabulous, I had a large plate to start and a small plate instead of dessert. The travel gods are smiling on us today!
