NAMIBIA AND BOTSWANA 2025 : Boteti River Camp

17th and 18th May
Initially we had planned to stay at Nxai Pan and Baines Baobabs for 4 nights.
Caravan electrical issues and a growing dislike for grueling sand roads and we decided to change our plans a bit. This led me to book alternative accomodation; firstly 2 nights at Boteti River Camp. I love this place. Just over the riverbed and into Magadigadi Pans NP. The zebra migration is in full swing and the Boteti River area is a paradise on earth. Animals as far as the eye can see.
On Sunday we decided to venture up to Nxai Pan. All 4 of us in the cruiser! It's over an hour on the tar to the gate. Then 1.5 hours of bone rattling sand and ruts. From the first minute we were glad we hadn't dragged the caravans in! We'll most likely never go back. The effort:reward balance is not in your favour. We had jaffles for brunch under a baobab. Jaffles have been our favourite lunch meal on this trip; especially when washed down with a glass of Vino Verde and accompanied by a view.
