INDIA 2025 : HOMEWARD BOUND

Thursday 20 February
Psst.. Luckily I love flying long haul and I enjoy airport lounges.

It's not a chore for us and we both love the downtime to read (Neil) and catch up on comms and admin (me).In India there's always someone to carry your bags and drivers just appear outside; always on time.
We drove 2 hours to Cochin airport; arriving very early but instead of swishing my way to the lounge, heavy security blocked us from entering the airport building until our flight appeared on the board! Then check-in wasn't open yet! There's no photo of me, admin spread out over 3 seats in the loud and very busy concourse, on the phone to SQ, updating apps, checking bank accounts and ordering groceries for my family on Checkers 60/60. Or Neil silently reading and reading. Just a pic of the couple opposite us also waiting to check in. And the ice cream we had to while away some time.
We spent the night at Ginger Hotel, Mumbai Airport. I also feel very much at home in a comfy hotel room, sitting in bed, familiar TV on in the background, researching trips, making reservations and calling home.
Friday 21 February
This time, a smooth glide through Mumbai Airport and breakfast in the lounge; our last meal in India. This has been a culinary trip for sure.
A flight to Singapore, another long wait in the lounge before the final leg to Joburg.
