EUROPE 2024 : Driving in the Pyrenees

Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 June
That's two full days of just amazing scenery.
Well done to the drivers, Neil and Stephen for safely navigating one mountain pass after another. On Tuesday we crossed the Pyrenees from Spain into France,  overnighting in Laruns.
On Wednesday morning we drove up to Col d'Aubisque along a Tour de France stage.

Due to a landslide causing road closures we ended up on a long detour back to the A34 and onto another route through the Pyrenees and back into Spain.
Wednesday night we were in the very quaint hilltop town of Ainsa. Lots of steps up to Plaza Mayor for a well earned round of drinks and a better than expected dinner at Bodegon de Mallacon. The weather is suddenly balmy enough for us to sit outside all evening.
Unable to get a taxi, our kind waitress fetched her car and drove us, the campers, all the way back to the campsite. How lovely is that? Larry and Jean had to walk back to their hotel though.
