From Casablanca,it's a quick drive down to Vina del Mar, Chile's popular beach town.
We drove north through Cuscon to Playa le Boca with it's clusters of beach shacks and surfing beach.
We stopped to wander the boardwalk at Playa Amarillas and enjoyed the birdwatching especially the oysercatchers and the beautiful Inca terns.
We drove back into Valparaiso to check into Hotel Winebox. This is a truly whacky hotel located in one of the cerros ( hilly neigbbourhoods ) overlooking the port city of Valparaiso. The hotel is constructed from 25 old shipping containers, 5 stories high.
Quirky decor, fun terraces and an urban winery in the basement garage.
Later that evening we ubered back to Vina del Mar and enjoyed our evening at Tiera de Fuego, located right on the beach.
Great piscos and wine at sunset, good food and a great view of the beach.
We got to taste the Casas del Bosque Savignon Blanc after all.
