ROVOS RAIL 2025 : PART TWO : TAU LODGE AT MADIKWE GAME RESERVE

Tuesday 8th to Wednesday 9th July
Off the train at Zeerust Station and onto a bus to Madikwe. We arrived at Tau Lodge in time for lunch. The lodge is set at a waterhole and all the rooms have decks with views. All the animals come down to drink including buffalo and elephant. Even a lioness visited one afternoon.
Although the sun was finally out, we were pretty chilly on the afternoon game drives.
On the morning drives we were provided with blankets and hot water bottles!
Great lion sightings and lots of rhino make this park special. For some of the Rovos guests, this was their first safari and almost everyone loved the experience. And the Boma dinner.
Us Greenies got complimentary bubbly in our room: the first 40th anniversary celebration so far.
