Wildlife Camp has an awesome campsite on the river. The campsite was quite busy when we arrived and eventhough I had booked months in advance the staff hadn't allocated us big enough sites. It's not their fault; other tourists who haven't booked bully them into giving up the best sites and then refuse to move on timeously. If you go, sites 6,7,8,9 and 11 are best and you need 1 site per vehicle. The camp was over run with very obnoxious baboons and very cheeky monkeys. Neil was ill with a stomach bug, so Andrew was on catty duty most of the time, with help from Stephen.
The sunsets over the river are special. There's lots of game coming through the campsite so you don't even have to go into the park every day.

Neil wasn't well enough to go game viewing so I went into the park each day with Rina.
What an awesome park with the most amazing trees and game everywhere you go. It's a piece of African paradise. Park fees are high, USD75 for a car and 2 pax per day. It's about a 10 minute drive to Mfuwe Main gate from Wildlife so it's worth going in both morning (6am - 11am ) and evening ( 3pm to 6pm.) Head back to camp inbetween for brunch, a nap and a swim.

Only Rina and I chose to go into the park today. What an adventure! Early on we pulled up behind a vehicle that had spotted a leopard. Luckily the leopard chose to walk in our direction, so Rina skillfully reversed until we were able to turn around. By now a few more cars had joined in and we were able to follow the leopard on and off for 2 hours. Much of the time he was out in the open and definately on the hunt. All my photos were taken with my phone.

This part of the park is fairly small and we have sussed out the main routes by now; returning to our favourite spots for coffee or GnTs with a view.
Sadly today we found a muddy pond with three dead or dying hippos stuck in the mud; a feast for the few crocs still able to swim around in the petrid water. About ten hyena were hanging around too but unable to get close enough due to the mud.
