Leaving Runde Campsite is more tricky than arriving.
Manouvering and reversing this monster caravan of ours is hard work. Neil has amazing off road driving and towing skills and the V8 Landcruiser is put through it's low range paces.
There's lots of cheering as they finally power up the sandy hill together.
Here's another tip for Africa..make sure you have a Toyota!
I've been to Great Zimbabwe National Park a number of times before but it's still amazing to see this 900+ year old settlement.
Romelda Retreat on Lake ( Kyle ) Mutirikwi is a great campsite for a night or 2 en route North. They also have safari tents and a lodge..
Wednesday 21 August
These early morning starts are becoming routine but we needed to get to Harare in time to shop. Sprawling Harare is a nightmare to traverse with erratic traffic and lots of roadworks and detours.
We all camped in Doug and Carmen's garden and Neil and I both enjoyed an afternoon catching up on admin and reading on our phones.
