Botswana Camping Trip September 2022 : Part One : Serolo,Tuli and Khama Rhino

Saturday 17th to Monday 19th September.

Day 1 to 3

Just 2 weeks after returning from the family safari in Botswana, we were off again, this time with our happy camping group.
To start, Gail and Neil, Hanlie and Andrew, Yvette and Gavin.

On 17th September, it was back through the Platjan Border and back to Tuli block, staying at Serolo Lodge this time. As always, we had a good time.

The cheetah had moved on but we did see lion and we found Leonie's elusive leopard.

We did get to enjoy the bush dinner this time too.

After a stop in Palapye for shopping and getting sim cards sorted, we got to Khama Rhino where Johan had already set up camp.

I always do a roster for meal prep which sounds a bit bossy and unspontaneous but it works so well with a group and everyone gets to enjoy days without having to worry about cooking. Just turn up with wine! We all love cooking on a real wood fire and we'll have a fire to sit around every night even if the meal isn't a braai. Cold wine and beer, ice and wood; even more important to procure than good meat and definitely more valued than fresh veggies! But don't forget the good morning coffee and the freshly baked bread and the desserts either.
