PHUKET 2024 : WEEK 6. Monday 25 November to Sunday 1 December

This week we didn't go to the beach much; there's been a lot of overcast, rainy weather.
We love our routines- a good sleep in, a late morning massage, coffee at Samero's, deciding where to have lunch. Or dinner? Friends and music. A few nights we even got to stay in, watch TV series and eat take out!  Oh, I love my "everyday" life here.
Rare date night with cupid hovering above my head.
Rain.

Italian food.
Korean food.
Greek food.
Coffee and a visit with Niloo.
Fresh fruit daily..and cut up for you too..
This lovey lady is our tailor and she works outside our hairdresser Nina's shop.
Neil's daily massage spot.
Quick, cheap lunch at Lucky.
Gary's legendary music evenings..we are going to miss you guys.
Wendy and I.
One of our favourite bars on Bangla.
With little Lek.
Super ninja cleaner taking his job seriously.
Bubble tea cat cafe with only 2 cats or maybe just "take your pet to work day"
World class music fun Gypsy Sun.
Snack stand that also sells gasoline in old whisky bottles for your motorbike. 40 bt.
Our local 7/11 and mini Big C. Tap water is not drinkable here and so plastic waste is a big issue.
Online shopping and delivery is big here. These final stage warehouse depots for Patong are near our apartment. Neil orders hundreds of things that are delivered to our security guard daily. He calls it his Lazada Advent Calendar.

PHUKET 2024 : WEEK 5. Monday 18 to Sunday 24 November

When you plan to take it really easy but still end up having a fun week..
Music at Hippie Road, Beach Pig, Chill Bar, Jack Rabbit Jims and Jina Cafe.
Braais at the Lewis's and the Crause's.
Luckily we have Sam who can drive us all over the island to see our favourite bands and friends.
We found a great new beach - Hideaway at Tri Trang and spent 2 great afternoons there.
We tried Chinese Mala Hot Pot at CQK for the first time.
And enjoyed our usual massages followed by coffee at Samero's.
Everyday Neil takes photos of the Food Cart outside Samero's. They are hardworking, dedicated to their customers and proud of their little business. Just one example of the millions of self employed people contributing to the economy in Thailand.
The soi (street) dogs in Patong are " looked after " by the locals. My favourite boy spends his days under Samero's awning or on the local guesthouse verandah. People buy him chicken skewers from the food cart. He's quite tubby. He doesn't like having his photo taken though.
We see our other favourite dog all over our neighbourhood..riding like the king but we have only been able to get a shot of him outside the fruit stall.
Neil found a new Kit Kat flavour- Pineapple Tart.. it's good!
More rugby in the Aussie Bar on Bangla that starts at 12.40am. A good win against Wales. Well done Bokke! This time Neil felt like a burger at 3am after the game. The smash burgers at Primeburger are really good. And you can get a delivery on the occasional night I persuade Neil to stay in to watch Netflix.
